November 1981. A concept album about a boy hero, the Council of Elders, and the Order of the Rose, co-written with a New York poet and produced by the man behind the band's biggest records. It peaked at No. 75, missed Gold, and the band never toured it. Then the strangest thing happened: it became a cult classic. The Spaceman's Elder costume, a black bodysuit with a padded silver lightning bolt running shoulder to knee, was the sharpest look of the era. The Elder Bolt retro rock shirt wears the bolt.
