Barong Macan – The Catman
Barong Macan is representing the figure of a tiger, which had a well-defined position in Balinese folkloric beliefs and magic. For instance the Balinese considered the ground powder of tiger whiskers to be a potent and undetectable poison for one’s foe.
Likewise, the character of The Catman, Balinese people are fond of wearing tiger parts as jewelry for status or spiritual reasons, such as power and protection. At the same time Green is the color of perfect repose, peace and luck. Its effect is healing both for the mind and body. Green is the polar opposites neutralized.
